The once and future squirrel by RustyRaccoon The once and future squirrel by RustyRaccoon
A pic I commissioned from :iconchica-the-little-cat:

Remember the heart breaking scene in The Sword in the Stone where Arthur becomes a squirrel. The part where Merlin changes Arthur back, breaking the heart of that sweet little female squirrel always upset me.

In this version, Arthur decides to take a different path.

Merlins little lesson backfired here. Alway's kinda pissed me off how Merlin put Arthurs life on the line with the whole fish thing.

I'd like to see a story where Wart decides to become a squirrel. Canon be dammed! besides the movie isn't historically accurate anyway so who cares? I want to see Wart/Arthur become a squirrel!

Well, that's why we have pics and fanfics, so we can imagine whatever ending we want :).

I wonder how things might have turned out for her... even as a sort of palace pet...? ;)

I think she'd be a very happy and spoiled little squirrel :)

I just watched the movie again. (I only saw it once, when I was 4, never again since then), but I clearly could recall that moment. I'm really sad for her. This drawing brings a lil' smile. Thanks for that.
